About
Cody "Kat" Johns has been playing and writing music since she was a teen, getting her start as a performing musician with rock bands like The Keeper playing drums in Orland, CA, and then adding singing and self-taught guitar playing to her repertoire in college. After attending and graduating from Chico State University in 2011, Kat helped create and played in bands like Radio Relapse, Bull Moose Party, and Ramona Skye, while privately honing her own skills and songwriting.

After the pandemic of 2020 set in, Kat began focusing more on her guitar playing and singing, eventually getting opportunities to be featured for Stonewall Chico Pride in both 2020 ("Sunset") and 2021 ("Moose?"). With each new song and one open mic at a time, Kat grew as a performer and gained an organic following, leading her to perform in her first multi-act show in 2021 (Chico A.R.T. Collective video) full-length concert at Nor Cal Brewing Company in Fall 2022.

Kat Johns now sets her sights on recording a full-length album (complete with a backing band) and entertaining others with her original music and unique song interpretations. She also currently plays drums and provides vocals for Million Year Trip, a psychedelic stoner rock project (inspired by bands like Yawning Man and Kyuss) with long-time friend and collaborator Jeremy Day, and Squidgrrrl, an all-transgender punk band.
